Gal Gadot reveals she was on the ‘verge of quitting acting’ before being cast as Wonder Woman in 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Jutice', shares a ‘nostalgic’ post

Gal Gadot has shared a picture of herself, taken around the time she contemplated quitting acting. The picture was taken by director Zack Snyder who gave a new lease of life to Gal’s career after he cast him as Wonder Woman in a brief role in Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice. The actor’s fortune turned around after she was cast as Wonder Woman in the DC Extended Universe.

Taking to Instagram, Gal shared the monochrome picture and wrote, “This photo was taken by Zack Snyder on the day I did the camera test for Batman vs Superman with Ben. I came to LA for 30 hours while shooting a movie in Tel Aviv. But I wanted the role of Wonder Woman so much that it was worth the trip. I’ll forever be grateful to Zack for casting me and believing that I could bring Diana to life. I had no idea what the future would hold back when this picture was taken - seeing it makes me very nostalgic. It's also proof that everything happens for a reason. I was on the verge of giving up acting... and then this happened.”

Gal’s most famous role came in after she was cast in the titular role of Wonder Woman aka Diana Prince. She followed Snyder’s film with a standalone film directed by Patty Jenkins that became the biggest grosser by a female director. The sequel Wonder Woman 1984 was released last year.

Gal would once again be seen as Wonder Woman in Zack Snyder’s Justice League that is due out on March 18 on HBO Max. Along with director Patty Jenkins, she will also appear in a third Wonder Woman movie, and the duo will collaborate on a Cleopatra biopic that she said she was 'very excited' about.
