The Irishman Trailer: Martin Scorsese’s gangster film FT Al Pacino and Robert De Niro is a journey through the hidden corridors of organized crime

The first trailer for The Irishman, the new Martin Scorsese gangster picture, has been released online. The film features a much-discussed digital de-aged Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Harvey Keitel and Joe Pesci. The film will span decades of American history and will appear on Netflix. The Irishman offers a monumental journey through the hidden corridors of organized crime, its inner workings, rivalries and connections to mainstream politics.

The Irishman is based on the story of mob hitman Frank Sheeran and his rumoured involvement in the disappearance and murder of notorious union boss Jimmy Hoffa. Pacino plays Hoffa while De Niro is seen as Sheeran. Pacino’s and De Niro’s hitman are seen in brief flashes of gangster action with hints about the John F Kennedy’s assassination.

The film has been in news for the CGI that has been incorporated into the film. However, De Niro’s face in the trailer still is the face of an aged guy. Probably the makers are saving it for the New York Film Festival in September when The Irishman will have its premiere. The film also stars Bobby Cannavale, Anna Paquin, Ray Romano, and Jesse Plemons. The film will be released in cinemas on Netflix in the autumn.
