Made up by the fake news media: Donald Trump does not recall calling Meghan Markle 'nasty' despite audio recording

Days ahead of his UK visit, US president Donald Trump garnered the ire of royal fans, media and public alike after he made remarks about Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle in a newspaper interview. As per the report, Donald labeled Meghan as 'nasty' after he was told of how the duchess has been a critic of his work. "I didn't know that. What can I say? I didn't know that she was nasty," he said.

Donald went on to say that he was glad she had joined the royal family and he believed she would make a "very good" princess. As news of this gathered steam, the president took to Twitter to clarify his statement and denied calling Meghan 'nasty'. He wrote, "I never called Meghan Markle “nasty.” Made up by the Fake News Media, and they got caught cold! Will @CNN, @nytimes and others apologize? Doubt it!"

The newspaper in question then published the interview and also shared the audio recording of the interview. Many people pointed out the fact that his comments were on record. He has since then landed in the UK and is all set to visit the royal family soon. According to a report, Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, Camilla, Prince William and Kate Middleton are all expected to join the US President during his State visit on June 3-5.

However, Meghan won't be meeting Donald as she is still on maternity leave after having given birth to baby Archie on May 6. While Meghan has made her dislike for Donald known in the past, her absence does not have anything to do with politics. Her husband and the Duke of Sussex Prince Harry will reportedly have a private lunch with Donald Trump, according to a source.
