The Lion King trailer: Gear up for the rise of Simba in this live-action remake of a Disney classic

In 2015, director Jon Favreau made us fall in love with Mowgli with the live-action version of The Jungle Book and now almost three years later, he is back with our favourite Simba all over again. Based on the 1994 animated classic, the makers of Disney's The Lion King dropped the much awaited teaser trailer on the occasion of Thanksgiving Day and we are certainly elated that it's finally here.

Jon's live action version of The Lion King journeys to the African Savannah, where a future king must overcome tragedy and betrayal and assume his rightful place on Pride Rock. The 1 minute and 32 seconds long teaser trailer begins with the first look at little Simba with the iconic voice-over of James Earl Jones, the original Mufasa.

We also get a glimpse of Rafiki holding baby Simba up in the air as he introduces him to his kingdom and the sight is endearing, to say the least. What's more, you will hear the original film’s opening track, Circle of Life, in the background and it will certainly bring back some fond memories.
