6th October 2022, the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) and Lakmé Fashion Week announce the Opening Show by Anamika Khanna’s press label AK-OK. It will be hosted at the Fountain of Joy at the Jio World Centre on the 11th of October 2022 in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex.  Anamika Khanna will be launching the much-awaited menswear line along with the highly coveted womenswear collection as part of the new AK-OK collection showcase.

For the second consecutive year, FDCI x Lakmé Fashion Week is being held at the Jio World Convention Centre. Located in the heart of Mumbai’s business district, Bandra Kurla Complex, the landmark destination is India’s largest & foremost venue for marquee exhibitions, conventions, and social events. The curtain raiser, ‘AK-OK by Anamika Khanna’ on 11th October will be the first ever fashion show to be held at Mumbai’s new iconic destination, the Fountain of Joy, which is a dedication to the people of Mumbai by Mrs Nita Ambani.

The show will set in motion the return to an entirely physical, season-fluid edition of FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week scheduled from 12-16 October 2022. The five-day FDCI x Lakmé Fashion Week season showcase will unfold through the convention centre’s several transformative spaces in never-seen-before formats.

AK-OK’s exciting new drop will showcase white cotton, prints in silk, and handmade shibori, with the peeping-in of denim occasionally. Audiences can expect the latest collection to stay true to the label’s DNA with a melange of abstract prints, embroideries and silhouettes that are a foray into wilder prints, with a fresh 3D definition.

Anamika Khanna, Creative Director of AK-OK said, “I am elated to collaborate with the Fashion Design Council of India and Lakmé Fashion Week. My AK-OK story began at home and went on to travel the whimsical, yet relaxed road, making every journey its own. Be it a draped dress, pyjama set, jacket, or the quintessentially timeless white kurta, this collection is a colour-infused version of my personal style, with the diversity of apparel being created to find its essence with the wearer as they see fit.”
