MET Gala 2022: ‘Oscars of Fashion’ to make a dramatic comeback on May 2, theme DISCLOSED!

The first Monday of May 2022 will sure be a sartorial treat to all the fashionistas around the world as it marks the event of the much-anticipated Metropolitan Museum of Art's Met Gala for the year. All set to take place on May 2nd, the ‘Oscars of Fashion’ will return to its usual scheduling with celebrities gracing the red carpet going all out at this flamboyant affair.

With the pandemic of Covid-19 dampening the gala’s vibe in 2020 and 2021 being quite an intimate affair held in September, this year the sartorial stakes will be much higher than ever with fashion making a dramatic comeback at the soiree.

Speaking of what we know so far about the gala, this year’s annual event will be celebrated with the theme, In America: An Anthology of Fashion. It is a part two exhibit continued from the last year’s theme, In America: A Lexicon. While last year’s lexicon theme dealt with interpreting individual fashion moments, the anthology is a whole collection of art and it would be interesting to see celebrities’ take on the current theme.

While the guest list is still kept under the wraps, this star-studded gala will find its hosts as official co-chairs in Regina King, Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds and Lin-Manuel Miranda. Designer Tom Ford, head of Instagram Adam Mosseri, and Vogue’s Anna Wintour will continue their roles as the honorary co-chairs.

Held on May 2, the exhibit will be open to the public till May 7. Both part one and two themes will be on the display at the museum until September 5.
