Along with being a well-known fashion designer in the show biz, Rohit Verma is also a philanthropist who has been supportive towards the needy people. In these challenging times, the designer aims to do his bit for the sex workers with his upcoming collection.
Joining forces with actress Kashmera Shah and Donal Bisht, Rohit is all set to unveil his latest collection on October 10. Called ‘Sonagachi,’ this collection derives inspiration from the ‘colours of agony.’ Both the actresses would feature as the face of this collection.
Rohit dedicated this collection to the murkiest place of the world and its sex workers. Apart from just deriving inspiration and dedicating the collection, Rohit aims to donate 25% of the sales proceeds towards the education of these sex workers.
Speaking about the collection Rohit said, “Let us all touch them through empathy, kind words and revere for what they are. Let’s make a difference you and me and accept them for what or who they are. Time we look beyond and introspect the circumstances that have led them to lead a life they live and not judge by our menial approach. They deserve respect and humanity; they are a creation of this universe just like you and me," he said.
Sonagachi where the battle is ongoing and the struggle to live comes with a price every moment. Love, reverance and an ode to Sonagachi. ‘The Strumpets an Undying Spirit,” concluded Rohit.
