Jimmy Choo launches a ‘Choo Sketch’ competition for its charity auction; Indian winner Hema gets her 'Cindrella' moment!

Sometime ago, luxury shoe house Jimmy Choo announced its #ChooSketch competition for all its ‘Choo’ lovers out there. In order to keep people’s creative juices flowing and ensure positivity in the challenging times of a global pandemic, the British fashion label came up with this engaging and creative concept.

Jimmy Choo’s creative director, Sandra Choi opened up this competition by posting the sketch of her dream shoe on the brand’s social media account. Interested followers were asked to sketch their fantasy shoes using their creativity, concepts, inspirations, and colors that would emit positivity as well as reflect uniqueness.

Introducing #CHOOSKETCH: sketch your fantasy shoe and your design could be part of a capsule collection sold for charity. It’s important to try to keep a positive mindset during these challenging times. The world is fighting something invisible to the eye that can be mentally and emotionally draining. For me, nature has always provided much needed escapism, watching the world continue to flourish as our usual way of life is interrupted has been enlightening. Mother Nature continues on in its own rhythm; spring is just starting and the blossom trees in my garden are providing a much needed light at the end of the tunnel. Never more have we needed to look to things that help our minds keep calm and stay positive. For my first #CHOOSKETCH I have created a fantasy shoe that takes inspiration from the pure beauty of blossom, contrasting against an infinite blue sky backlit with rays of golden sunlight. Our lives are on pause but nature continues to weave her magic, that helps to fuel my optimism - Creative Director @SandraChoiOfficial. Visit our Stories to see how you can take part in #CHOOSKETCH

“I’m looking for little popcorns of ideas where it could be a bad drawing, but if I think there’s something that we can work on, that’s great,” Sandra said to British Vogue. The shortlisted sketches would be posted on Choo’s official Instagram handle where the top five winners would be decided via public poll. These winners would stand a chance to see their dream shoe turn into reality.

Choo’s competition saw a number of enthusiastic participants scattered over different continents of the world as well as ranging from age groups of 4 to 8-year-olds! Check it out:
