The world's youngest Nobel Prize laureate, Malala Yousafzai, tied the knot with Asser Malik at home in England's Birmingham. The Pakistani activist announced her wedding and shared some pictures from the intimate nikaah ceremony that took place in the presence of family members.
Sharing the pictures, Malala wrote, "Today marks a precious day in my life. Asser and I tied the knot to be partners for life. We celebrated a small nikkah ceremony at home in Birmingham with our families. Please send us your prayers. We are excited to walk together for the journey ahead."

For the nikaah ceremony, Malala wore a pink coloured outfit. She rounded off her look with a maang tika, earrings and bangles. Asser wore a formal suit.
According to reports, Asser is currently serving as general manager of high performance at the Pakistan cricket board. Though Malala didn't give out other information about her husband apart from his name, people were quick to scan his Instagram account for additional details.
Malala, a campaigner for girls' education, got global recognition for showing courage and standing up for the rights of girls and women. In 2012, she was shot at by Taliban terrorists for openly speaking on behalf of girls and their right to learn. In 2014, she received the Nobel Peace Prize. She studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the University of Oxford and graduated in 2020.
