The International Indian Film Academy - IIFA is hosting the biggest celebration of Indian party music with IIFA STOMP ONLINE on June 21 to celebrate World Music Day from 7:30 pm to 11:30 pm. This is in continuation of IIFA’s initiatives #IIFAHumSabSaathHain and #IIFAStayAtHomeConcerts. The event will feature artists, singers and musicians like DJ Amann Nagpal, DJ Clement, DJ Rink, DJ Shaan Gidwani, DJ Ravi Drums, Akbar Sami and many more. IIFA STOMP - the biggest Bollywood DJ music festival was launched in 2014 and has been hosted annually in the cities that host the world’s most awaited Indian celebration IIFA Weekend and Awards

PeepingMoon recently got in touch with DJ Clement and DJ Amann Nagpal before their big concert night tomorrow and the two seemed pretty excited for this one of a kind event.

Excerpts from the interview with DJ Clement

It’s one of a kind virtual party experience with IIFA. How did you come on board?

I have been associated with Wizcraft ever since I was 15 years old. My first job was with them in 1996. I have played for them at various parties and I have also been a part of IIFA for the past 5 years. I am possibly still one of their favourites maybe which is why they have considered me once again.

How excited are you to entertain the fans from home?

It's a different kind of experience. For the past 3 months, the music industry is the last to be physically doing gigs out in the open. Everything now has gone online. I have been doing things online as well and we have all gotten more creative. I have gathered some experience and now with IIFA Stomp Online, it's going to be a different kind of vibe. I will have to pretend like there are a million people in front of me. I am pretty much excited to entertain my fans from home.

You’re a self-made artist and you’ve made your own mark in the industry. How has your journey been?

Anybody who started their journey 10-15 years back is self-made. My journey started with entering the nigh life and having a circle of DJs. I have learnt so much from then and how they used to handle things back then. I have accumulated great experience and that's why I have a professional music production academy in Bangalore called The Music School. Things have only been getting better. Life surprises me all the time with bringing something that I never expected. Especially with Wizcraft and IIFA which happens in so many countries. It is such a nice experience to go and meet Indian artists over there and it's so good to see their gratitude towards us. My journey has been very blessed.

What do you do on World Music Day every year?

Usually, there is no plan as such because throughout the year we are so busy/ But since I live in Bangalore, we have started this thing that some more DJs and I, we gather on World Music Day and speak to some club and try and get some deals. We make a conscious effort to catch up with other DJs, spend some time. I don't know if it's something extraordinary but I like it because we get to meet other DJs.

Excerpts from the interview with DJ Amann Nagpal

It’s one of a kind virtual party experience with IIFA. How did you come on board?

I have relations with Wizcraft and IIFA for 4-5 years. I played for them in Florida, Spain, and New York at one point. So, I have a very old relation with everyone. So, now that people are at home, they do need entertainment and music so it's a great initiative that IIFA has taken on World Music Day. I am sure it is going to be very magical for the audience.

How excited are you to entertain the fans from home?

It is very exciting because we will be having a lot of viewers. Nowadays, a lot of DJs are going live on their own Instagram page and they have 1000-2000 views. But since IIFA is such a big International platform, I am sure it will have a lot many viewers. I am sure a lot of people will enjoy this virtual party.

What do you do on World Music Day every year?

Very frankly, I don't know where I was last year because I do a lot of private events so maybe I was at some event or maybe at some bar but this year is going to be really exciting and the reason is that it has IIFA behind it. What I have done to make it even more special is that I have got my international violin player Anna so I will play proper Bollywood music, and she despite being an international artist, will jam with me. This is something really nice.

A message for all music lovers who are looking forward to this virtual party tomorrow?

What is very important for every viewer who joins in is to connect to the best headphones or speakers because the quality of the sound has to be great for this virtual party. And of course, everyone should be safe at home.
