Diwali is around the corner and every Indian household is busy preparing for the festival of lights. Traditionally, Diwali is all about spending time with your loved one, welcoming Goddess Lakshmi home, enjoying the positive vibe, bursting firecrackers and of course binging on festive foods and sweets. The country has opened up after the dreadful second wave of COVID-19 and people are looking forward to stepping out. However, there are some who prefer staying back at home as the fear of the third wave of pandemic remains. 

Catering to both sections of society, Bollywood filmmakers are offering multiple options to all patrons of Hindi cinema during the festive season. Making Diwali a binge-worthy occasion, filmmakers are releasing films in theatres as well as on the OTT. So, let's grab a tub of popcorn, in theatres or at home, and binge-watch! Here are the films and web series releasing around Diwali, just for your entertainment. 

Hum Do Hamare Do

Jai Bhim

Fans of Suriya are in for a treat as the actor will arrive on Amazon Prime Video with his film Jai Bhim. The actor will be seen as an activist-advocate named Chandru, who makes a career out of standing up for landless tribals before becoming a judge. Jai Bhim is directed by T. J. Gnanavel and produced by 2D Entertainment. It will release on November 2. 

Akkad Bakkad Rafu Chakkar

Akkad Bakkad Rafu Chakkar is Raj Kaushal's last project. He directed and produced the series. Raj passed away on June 30 this year due to a cardiac arrest. Akkad Bakkad Rafu Chakkar is about two friends who decide to run a fake bank after reading a number of stories on scams. Sooryavanshi

After almost 2 years, Rohit Shetty-directed Sooryavanshi is set to release during Diwali. Starring Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif and others, the actioner will release in theatres on November 5. Sooryavanshi revolves around Anti-Terrorist Squad officer Veer Sooryavanshi. Meenakshi Sundareshwar

Sanya Malhotra and Abhimanyu Dassani teamed up for Karan Johar's Netflix film Meenakshi Sundareshwar. Set in Madurai and Bengaluru, the film revolves around a newly married couple who has to deal with the ups and downs of a long-distance relationship. The film is directed by Vivek Soni and is written by him and Aarsh Vora. Meenakshi Sundareshwar will be released on November 5 on Netflix.

Tryst With Destiny

Prashant Nair's Tryst With Destiny anthology has probably the best star cast. It stars Jaideep Ahlawat, Vineet Kumar Singh, Palomi Ghosh, Kani Kusruti, Ashish Vidyarthi, Amit Sial, Ishwak Singh, Lilette Dubey, Victor Banerjee, Geetanjali Thapa and Suhasini Maniratnam. Tryst With Destiny has four stories that explore characters from widely different backgrounds who struggle for control of their destinies. Narcos: Mexico: Season 3

Narcos: Mexico: Season 3 is coming to Netflix on November 5. The previous season of the show ended with a cliffhanger. Now, the new season highlights the rise of drug cartels old and new as they fight for claims to the city and control over the economy by rising above the law.
