Navratri 2021: From Chogada, Ghani Cool Chori to Udi Udi Jaye, Bollywood songs that are perfect for garba and dandiya

One of the most auspicious and popular festivals of India, Navratri begins today, that is October 7 and there is joy, fervor and euphoria in the minds of the devotees who pray to Goddess Durga in all her glory. Navratri is a festival of joyous festivities, scrumptious delicacies, devout devotion and an opportunity to showcase your dance moves with dandiya and garba events.

Navratri has always been one of the most used festivals when it comes to Bollywood and there are several dandiya/garba tracks that one can listen and dance to from Hindi films. Here’s a list of some of the most chartbusting numbers for your playlist:

Dholi Taro Dhol Baje

This energetic and playful song featuring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Salman Khan from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam is one of the most popular and liked songs to perform garba. It’s been more than two decades since the film’s release but Dholi Taro Dhol Baje is still a crowd favourite.

Ghani Cool Chori

Ghani Cool Chori is the latest garba track released from Taapsee Pannu’s film Rashmi Rocket. The song has potential to become the dandiya anthem this year and will definitely be on the playlist at all events. The song features Taapsee and Priyanshu Painyuli dancing their heart out.

Chogada

It is really difficult to get over this song. Aayush Sharma and Warina Hussain’s Chogada is a chartbusting number Chogada from their debut film LoveYatri will make you tap your feet to its thumping beats. So what are you waiting for, get on the dance floor and unleash your dancing skills.

Kamariya

This has got to be the ultimate festive track. Sung by Darshan Raval and featured on Jackky Bhagnani and Kritika Kamra, Kamariya from the film Mitron, the song will make you groove to it nonstop. Don’t forget to spot Pratik Gandhi shaking a leg too.

Nagada Sang Dhol

Nagada Sang Dhol from Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela is an anthem for Navratri and no garba/dandiya get together is incomplete without it. Deepika Padukone’s garba steps are what accomplished dance moves are all about and her infectious energy is the soul of the song.

Dholida

Dholida from LoveYatri is another track that has the fervour of the season coupled with the fragrance of first love. Sung by Udit Narayan and Neha Kakkar, Dholida definitely makes your toes tap. It is an apt song for this festival and something to practice your garba steps on.

Udi Udi Jaye

Trust Shah Rukh Khan to even make Navratri his own with a romantic number; Udi Udi Jaye from Raees is the ultimate track to groove to and maybe profess your love to your beloved too!

Mehendi

Recently released, Mehendi is sung by Dhvani Bhanushali and features Gurfateh Pirzada. The song is the perfect match for Navratri.
