With Nawazuddin Siddiqui's wife Aaliya sending the actor a legal notice demanding a divorce and maintenance from him over issues related to their married life, let’s take a look at some of Bollywood's most controversial divorces, from Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne Khan to Arbaaz Khan and Malaika Arora.
Aamir Khan - Reena Dutta
The divorce of Aamir and Reena, his wife of 16 years, came as a shock to many in 2002. Aamir was with Reena much before he made his Bollywood debut Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. However, they parted ways finally but have remained cordial ever since, claiming that the divorce was traumatic for both of them. In fact, they often come together for their children and family functions. Aamir is now married Kiran Rao and the two have a son Azad Rao Khan.
Farhan Akhtar - Adhuna Bhabani
The actor-director-singer and renowned hairstylist were also married for 16 years before splitting up in 2016. Although the couple never stated the reason for their separation, they continue to share a cordial relationship with each other and currently share custody of their two daughters. Farhan is aalready dating Shibani Dandekar while Adhuna is said to be in a relationship with Nicolo Morea.

Arjun and Mehr called it quits in 2018 after being married for 20 years. In a join statement, they said, "After a 20-year-long beautiful journey filled with love and beautiful memories, we would like to share, that all journeys have different paths. We feel that it is time for us to move on to different destinations henceforth." While Arjun was linked to Sussanne Khan, ex wife of Hrithik Roshan, he is in a relationship with model Gabriella Demetriades and they both welcomed their son Arik in July last year.

Perhaps one of the most shocking divorces in Bollywood was of Hrithik and Sussanne. Amid rumours of Hrithik seeing Kites co-star Barbara Mori and later, Kangana Ranaut, the childhood sweethearts announced their separation news on 2014. They both denied reports of any third party being the reason behind their divorce and continue to remain close years after they parted ways. They share the custody of their children and prove to be doting parents to them, setting a perfect example on how exes can also be friends.
Saif Ali Khan - Amrita Singh
In 1991, Saif Ali Khan surprised everyone when he decided to tie the knot with a much older Amrita Singh. However, two children and 13 years later, they parted ways in 2004. In fact, Saif had then said in an inteview that it was not nice to be constantly reminded of how worthless one is. It was one of the most controversial divorces in Bollywood and Saif had to pay a hefty sum of his fortune as alimony. Their children Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan are now grown up and Saif is now married to Kareena and has a son Taimur.
Arbaaz Khan - Malaika Arora
Arbaaz and Malaika were one of the hottest B-town couples and they left everyone suprised when they announced their separation after 18 years of marriage. In fact, rumours of troubles in their marriage were doing the rounds for many years but nobody trustem them. The two have now moved on. Arbaaz is dating model Giorgia Andriani while Malaika has made her relationship with Arjun Kapoor official.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui - Aaliya Siddiqui
Married for 11 years with two kids, Aaliya has recently sent the actor a legal notice demanding a divorce and maintenance from him over issues related to their married life. Citing "serious problems", she has also sought for custody of her children. Nawazuddin is yet to respond to her claims although he had admitted to multiple affairs in the past in his controversial memoir.
Anurag Kashyap - Kalki Koechlin
Anurag and Kalki, who got married in 2011, got legally divorced in 2015 after announcing their separation in 2013. They still remain friendly with each other. Kalki welcomed first child with boyfriend Guy Hershberg. Anurag, meanwhile, is in a relationship with Shubhra Shetty. During Kareena Kapoor Khan’s radio show What Women Want, Kalki said that she feels that “the timing just wasn’t correct” for them as Kalki had married him when she was just 25.
Karisma Kapoor - Sunjay Kapoor
After calling off her engagement to Abhishek Bachchan, Karisma Kapoor suddenly announced her marriage plans with Delhi-based businessman Sunjay Kapur. However, within few years into the marriage, there was trouble in paradise and there was a buzz that Karisma was eager to stay in Mumbai while her husband was based in Delhi. After welcoming their daughter Samaira in 2005 and son Kiaan in 2010, they filed a petition for divorce by mutual content in 2015. In 2015, things got ugly over financial matters and custody of the children, only to be granted divorce in June that year. Sunjay is now married to Priya Sachdev and they have a son Azarius.
Karan Singh Grover - Shraddha Nigam and Jennifer Winget
Karan tied the knot with Shraddha in 2008 but their marriage ended in divorce after 10 months. The actor then got married to Jennifer in 2012 but after two years, they both parted ways. He is now married to Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu.
