Lakme Fashion Week 2024 day 2: Shimmer and shine

Dia Mirza was the shimmer-and-shine showstopper, dazzling in a chic creation with floor-kissing drapes of silver-grey and beautiful black. She ended the Inca label show by Amit Hansraj at Lakm Fashion Week x FDCI at Jio World Convention Centre.

On view was the Love is a Verb collection that took the packed house on fashion odyssey that explored the movement of chic clothes. Fabrics were chosen from a certain variety of silk and satin, derived from byproducts of rubber and sugarcane.

Next in line was Ankur Verma’s Til label with a collection called Ray, all about light converging with artistry. It was the vibrant palette of dusk shadows and radiant hues that were evident through the weaves. The intertwining of cotton and silk revealed great mastery over weaves. The colour card moved from mustard to rust, but then stayed loyal to black and ivory. Men’s wear matched the vibrancy of women’s attire.

Yavi by Yadvi Agarwal was next with the Recondite Freedom collection that told the tale in various segments. Kitchen Garden Delights was splashed with botanical delights, Wild Elegance was about impressionism layered with ethereal grace, Artificial Intelligence Art had a stylish collision of AI and hand-painted prints, Foot Art brought a celebration of culinary delights.

The silhouettes moved from belted robes, slouchy tiered maxis, unstructured coats, cropped jackets, dresses, bundies, oversized jackets, crinkled creations, co-ord sets, shirts and swing jackets.
