In an exclusive chat with Peepingmoon, Nikita revealed the time when KJo had moved out of his safe zone in black blazers and started being open to experimenting with his looks. “Even though he liked wearing his blacks, he liked something new come there. We would experiment with different kinds of silhouettes, textures and patchworks which wasn’t trending back then. I always had these ideas in my head and when I started presenting it to him, he started being open to experimentation.”

Jaisinghani also mentioned the bold colour that KJo experimented with the first time. “The first colour I remember he wore was a red jacket which I made him wear for IIFA New York (2017). It was too gutsy for us as it was a bold colour for KJ to experiment for the first time,” she said.

Talking about the do’s and don’ts, Nikita said, “The don’ts are very clear: do not give me anything boring.” To curate KJo’s statement-making looks, Nikita keeps a look for eccentric jackets made by Indian designers provided they go with the theme of his look. “The jacket needs to be something, it just can’t be your black jacket anymore,” she continued.

Talking about her favourite KJo looks, Jaisinghani picked out the one in heels which he wore for Vogue Awards in 2019. “These heels were something which we were very glad and excited to be wearing because we were breaking the norms. Also, it was very cool as first time some man was to do this in India”
