Revisiting Cannes 2019: Popping hues to new age sarees, when debut divas Huma Qureshi and Diana Penty took over French Riviera with sartorially loaded guns!

In an alternate reality, fashionistas over the world would have rejoiced with the commencement of the much-awaited sartorial extravaganza in the form of 73rd Festival De Cannes. All set to happen in French Riviera between May 12- May 23, 2020, this fest was disrupted by the sudden outbreak of COVID-19 Pandemic. Although the organizers are trying to keep the fest together by featuring the nominated films in different film fests later this year, we are sorry to be the one to tell you that there won’t be a sartorial show this year.

Sartorial or not, the show must go on! With that being said, PeepingMoon brings you a rewind of Cannes sartorial soiree from last year to keep your inner fashionista satiated.

So, without further ado, let’s begin this fashion showcase from 2019 with our debut Cannes divas Huma Qureshi and Diana Penty who put on quite a show!

HUMA QURESHI

Representing the alcohol brand, Grey Goose for her second appearance last year, Huma Qureshi went bold on her sartorial choices. Be it roaring reds or pastel frills, she made sure she grabbed the attention at French Riviera dressed majorly by Indian designers. Styled by Ayesha Amin Nigam and Shaurya Athley, Qureshi exuded her charisma without trying too hard.

Here are some of her fashion escapades, from the press conference and red carpets…

PRESS, PROMOTIONS AND PARTIES

Strutting the streets of French Riviera in cape sarees, halter necks, and blazer gowns, Huma was quite bold and experimental with her sartorial choices. Take a look at some of her promotion and party events here:

With voluminous ruffles to her rescue, Huma looked nothing less than a Disney Princess in a Gaurav Gupta ensemble.

Good run, Huma!

DIANA PENTY

Another debutante from the home ground, Diana also represented alcohol brand Grey Goose on the French soil. Keeping her looks crisp and fuss-free while whole lotta colours, Diana Penty made quite an impressionable start to her Cannes red carpet journey. Styled by Namita Alexander, Penty’s maiden run was quite fashion-forward and experimental with diverse shade cards and eccentric outfits.

PRESS, PROMOTIONS AND PARTIES

Arriving at French Riviera on May 17, 2019, Diana made them stop-n-stare with her A-game. Popping floral trench, shimmery tassels, to new-age drapes, Diana brought versatility to the festival. Here are some of her note-worthy press and party looks:

Saving best for the last, Diana donned a larger-than-life Nedret Taciroglu gown that was high on embellishments, layers, and feathers. Apt for an extravagant red carpet affair indeed!

Chic, classy, and high on glamour, Huma’s and Diana’s Cannes tales have a lot to tell. What was your take on their last year’s debut?
