Amazon Filmfare Awards 2020: Ranveer Singh’s structured goodness to Taapsee Pannu's butterfly effect, here are the BEST and WORST dressed from the soiree

The 65th Amazon Filmfare Awards in Guwahati was indeed a starry affair and a sartorial rollercoaster of all sorts. From ravishing gowns and structured suits to done-to-death ensembles, we saw both, the best and worst looks from our Bollywood brigade.

Wondering if your favourite celebrity made the cut? Find it out below:

RANVEER SINGH

Our stylish gully boy not just won awards, but also the hearts of fashionistas with his ‘avant-garde’ futuristic look from Kaushik Velendra. This textured tux with structured shoulders was everything. All hearts for those spunky glares!

TAAPSEE PANNU

Alluring us with the butterfly effect in a Fouad Sarkis gown, Taapsee sure flew high! Voluminous sleeve, off shouldered goodness and butterfly-winged train, wow, talk about the drama! Tasselled earrings from Azotiique perfectly accessorized her butterfly gown. Also, those sexy reverse winged eyes, nude lips and textured braid were just on point!

ALIA BHATT

Alia colour-blocked us all in a draped Georges HOBEIKA Couture dress that featured a textured strapless corset and a thigh-high slit. Opting for minimal accessories from Manoj and Dev and an understated glam, she let her sexy dress do all the talking.

VARUN DHAWAN

Varun looked every bit dapper in this sleek Berluti suit. That’s quite a fancy bow-tie!

MADHURI DIXIT NENE

Madhuri cut out a scintillating picture in this dusky pink encrusted gown from label Nadine Dhody. Elegant jewels from Mahesh Notandass and Diamantina Fine Jewels complemented here embellished off shouldered outfit pretty well. In the beauty department, she opted for a radiant glam with bold lips and soft curls to round off her look.

KARAN JOHAR

Karan added dollops of shimmer and sass to the soiree with his blingy Dolce & Gabbana suit. Red hot indeed!

Apart from these stunners, there were some other celebs who stole the show with their dapper dressing. Although, they couldn’t manage to get anything new to the list.

KARTIK AARYAN

Kartik made an appearance at the gala dressed head to toe in Dior. Teaming up his suit with a satin shirt, Dior neck chain and sport sneaks, he was good to go.

AYUSHMANN KHURRANA

Ayushmann turned heads at the gala with his customized broken mosaic velvet tux from designer Manish Malhotra. Teaming velvets and embellishments, he certainly opted for luxurious attire for the evening. A pair of Tomford brogues completed his look.

VICKY KAUSHAL

Vicky showed us the power of mighty whiteys in this bespoke white tux from Vastralab. Teaming up his attire with sleek black Escaro Royalé shoes, he looked red-carpet ready

VAANI KAPOOR

Vaani sizzled on the red carpet draped in six yards of glamour from label Manish Malhotra. Her intricately embellished saree was teamed up with a detailed blouse. Jewels from Diosa added on to the bling affair of her attire. Soft glam with nude pink lips, shimmery eyes and sift romantic curls added finishing touches to her look.

Some divas played too safe at the soiree with their sartorial choices, check them out:

SANYA MALHOTRA

Sanya opted for a nude-toned gown from label Sharnita Nandwana that was high on embellishments. Her strapless number bore a drape detailing that added on to the drama of her look. Opting for a subtle glam and tousled curls, she was good to go.

MOUNI ROY

Mouni opted for a white embellished gown from Karleo that bore off shouldered sleeves and a train. Keeping the makeup to a minimum with textured curls, she was good to go. Playing a bit too safe, Mouni?

SAIEE MANJREKAR

Saiee opted for a silver strapless gown from Gyunel with a thigh-high slit. Blings from Joolry and strappy Tresmode heels rounded off her attire. She went high on glam with bold red lips and highlighted curls to go with her look.

Then there were some Bollywood beauts that failed to work their charm this time around with their done-and-dusted looks…

RADHIKA APTE

We are certainly not a fan of Radhika’s Dior look. Be it her multi-hued layers or her Plain Jane look, nothing seems to be appealing to the eyes.

BHUMI PEDNEKAR

Bhumi failed to create magic this time around with her rouge ruffled look in Gaby Charbachy. This has been done to death by this beaut and how we wish she explores more with her sartorial options as she is one of those who can definitely pull off a risky look.

ANANYA PANDAY

We have mixed feelings about Ananya’s ruffled and tired ensemble from Dylan Parienty. Given her ability to pull off any look with utmost finesse, this is definitely a downer. Ruffles, tiers or bow-detailed sleeves, there’s too much going on with this look and we honestly dint like any!
