Kangana, Aditi and Kareena open the sartorial gates at the Indian Couture Week

The Indian Couture Week 2018(ICW) is all about setting sartorial standards with the changing trends for the contemporary woman and what better way than letting the leading ladies of Bollywood grace the runway!

Ace designer Tarun Tahiliani opened the gates to the exciting week ahead with Aditi Rao Hyadri as his showstopper. The intricate thread work was accompanied by pearls and crystals for color, making for a gasp-eliciting vision for all of us. Aditi looked magnificent in the dazzling pink lehenga which was paired with an off-shoulder blouse and a light-weight veil. Minimal glam and pulled back hair let the stunning ensemble do all the talking. Such poise, much wow!

Where them heart-eye emojis at?

His current collection,'In Elysium' reflects the effervescence of great construction, sparkling diamantes and exquisite thread work in regal shades of an oyster. His collection featured ensembles that celebrated the modern Indian woman while catching the essence of tradition and fusing it with a sparkly twist, thanks to all those Swarovski crystals. Fabrics like georgette and tulle were used in the making of these outfits, making it extremely light-weight while enhancing movement and volume, something that every bride. Well, needless to say, we're just getting started!

Our very own Queen actress, Kangana Ranaut looked every bit ethereal as she walked the ramp for Anju Modi showcasing her Victorian-age inspired collection. Kangy was seen in a luxe-cream lehenga which had a lot of movement and yet, ushered a dominant poise. The lehenga had minimal detailing making it look regal in all its glory. The lehenga was paired with a velvet jacket that emanated power, grace and elegance. With basic glam, a very retro themed hairdo and a lot of confidence, Kangana looked in character to the theme of the designer's current collection.

Bow down to the Queen!

Anju Modi skipped her original style of heavy embroidered lehengas for something more minimalistic as she addressed the Victorian age. The ace designer opted for lush fabrics like velvet, brocade and silk amongst the others, while sticking to a jewel tone palette to represent the regalia. Dreamy, isn't it?

Kareena Kapoor Khan dazzled the runway in a gorgeous golden Falguni-Shane Peacock number as she marked the designer duo's debut at the ICW. The Pataudi Begum looked bewitchingly beautiful as she graced the ramp, putting everyone in a trance. The all-glam golden lehenga was a ravishing mix of applique work with sequins and embellishments making it the real deal at the runway. Kareena exuded absolute charm and grace with glowy skin and golden eyes, while letting the exquisite ensemble speak for itself.

Blinging it out and how!

Designer duo, Falguni and Shane Peacock are known to be the masters at fusion. Taking couture for a contemporary spin with today's trends and traditional silhouettes is known to be their forte. The duo presented a collection of gowns, lehengas and similar ensembles featuring ruffles, applique work, and major embellishments while also fusing it with thread-work, tassels and traditional embroidery. The glam outfits are fit for the modern Indian bride that exudes confidence by simply stepping into these creations. Dull metallics, washed out pastels and muted warms dominated this collection as the designer marked their first venture at the ICW.
