PeepingMoon Exclusive: Tejasswi Prakash defends her age-shaming remark against Shamita Shetty on Bigg Boss 15, says 'she’s a hot-looking girl, who would actually call her an aunty'

Ever since Tejasswi Prakash won Bigg Boss 15, the actress has been in news for bagging Naagin 6, having a tiff with Shamita Shetty on Salman Khan's controversial reality show and her relationship with Karan Kundrra. Weeks after her big win, Tejasswi got into a candid chat with PeepingMoon's Entertainment Correspondent Rashita Sahni.

From being slammed for age-shaming Shamita to her wedding plans with Karan, Tejasswi went all candid in the conversation.

Excerpts from the interview:

Did you expect to win the title of Bigg Boss 15

I went into the show, very determined to come out a winner. And thankfully I did. I worked very hard inside, dealt with so much of emotions, while my friends, family and fans made sure to keep me safe week after week. While no one knows what will happen from the beginning, my goal was always to win the show.

A certain section on the internet, including a few celebrities, have been calling Pratik Sehajpal the more deserving winner. How does that make you feel?

You can never make everybody happy.  Every season has ‘one winner’ and every season has loyal followers of the show who aren’t happy with the winner.  No matter who won, there would be someone who would be unhappy.  I’m glad my Ganpati Bappa and my fans were with me in this journey and it ended with a victory.

You were called insecure several times, also because you were often heard saying things about Shamita Shetty desperately wanting to be friends with Karan Kundrra. What made you feel that way?

I was never insecure.  Remember this game is all about allies and the bonds you form to go ahead in the game as well as find solace in challenging situations. I wanted to make sure my allies stayed with me and that is completely natural.

Certain personal comments of yours - calling Shamita aunty - did not go down well with the audiences and celebs. Do you feel the show makes you lose your temper very often?

It was a slang term used at the moment.  Have you seen Shamita? She’s a hot-looking girl, who would actually call her an aunty? And the minute I felt that she didn’t like it, I right away took it back. There are many things that were said to me and I never made a big deal out of them.  One needs to know the moment and what context and manner the remark was made in and though I apologized, there were never any apologies that came to me.

Now that both the families have given their seal of approval, are you and Karan planning to take your relationship ahead?

We have just gotten out of the house and it's too early to say anything.  We both are busy with our work so let's see how things pan out now that we are outside.  It's different to know each other inside the house in that stressful environment.  The outside world and life are very different.

You also got Naagin 6 in your kitty right after Bigg Boss. Netizens are also finding this a little biased. A response to that?

It was how it was destined to happen I guess. The makers must have seen something in me and my past performances to offer me Naagin. My winning of Bigg Boss 15 had nothing to do with me getting offered Naagin 6 and vice versa.  I would want to celebrate my win rather than defend it.  That’s the way my audience who voted for me would want it to be….
