Peeping Moon Exclusive : Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘King’ set for three intense action blocks after dialogue-heavy Poland schedule

For Siddharth Anand's highly anticipated ‘King,’ the Poland schedule has been all about dialogues and no action. With his leading star Shah Rukh Khan still not cleared to perform high-intensity stunts, the director has shifted focus to dialogue-heavy and dramatic scenes. Most of these will be completed by the end of the Poland schedule on October 20.

Shah Rukh is expected to resume action by December or January. “After the actor suffered a muscular injury during an intense action sequence in July, Siddharth prioritized shooting the dramatic sequences first. SRK, Deepika Padukone, Suhana Khan, Arshad Warsi, and others have been filming the emotional, dialogue-heavy portions in Poland since early September. By October 20, they’ll wrap the schedule, completing nearly 70% of the film’s production,” a source revealed.

The next schedule will focus on action and songs, with three major action blocks planned. While the entry sequence has already been shot at Mumbai’s Golden Tobacco Studio, the interval, climax, and other high-octane set pieces will be filmed subsequently. International stunt experts have been roped in to design and execute these large-scale sequences. The film is expected to finish production by mid-2026 and is looking at a theatrical release in early 2027.

Contrary to online speculation, ‘King’ is not a remake of the 1994 French film, ‘Léon: The Professional.’ Although the two films share a similar idea, ‘King’ is believed to be a completely different and original film, crafted in Siddharth’s signature cinematic style. Those aware of the script are already excited, and with Siddharth’s execution, ‘King’ is aiming to be another box office blockbuster after the 500-crore ‘Pathaan’ in 2023.

Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Production, ‘King’ features Deepika Padukone (in a full-fledged role now), Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Arshad Warsi, Jaideep Ahlawat, Rani Mukherji, Anil Kapur, and Abhay Varma, among others in key roles. The film is expected to be officially announced on Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday on November 2.
