Peeping Moon Exclusive : KJo and Raj Mehta plan high-octane action entertainer with Tiger Shroff-Janhvi Kapoor

The indefatigable Karan Johar has bolstered Dharma Productions' 2025–26 slate with a high-profile addition. PeepingMoon.com has exclusively learned the production company has signed Tiger Shroff and Janhvi Kapoor to headline Raj Mehta’s big theatrical action entertainer. This will be Tiger’s first action film for Dharma Productions and everybody on board is super excited about it and the exciting new Bollywood pairing.

Best known for helming blockbuster comedies like ‘Good Newwz’ and ‘Jug Jugg Jeeyo,’ Mehta is transitioning into the action genre with this large-scale masala entertainer. It promises audiences a cinematic treat of adrenaline-pumping action, romance, comedy, and chart-topping music. Tiger and Janhvi, who will be working with each other for the first time, are said to be thrilled to join his dynamic world of storytelling, which this time centers on action as its core theme.

The film is believed to be the reworked version of the action project Mehta was working on in 2023. Reportedly titled ‘Deadly’, it was then envisioned with Tiger, Varun Dhawan, and Janhvi in the leads. But that didn’t happen for reasons unknown. In the interim, the director explored a sequel to ‘Jug Jugg Jeeyo’ but has now returned to his earlier script. Which he revised and reinvigorated extensively, bringing it to its current form. Pre-production is underway, with location scouting completed and principal photography slated to begin post-monsoon.

This yet-untitled action drama will mark Tiger’s second film with Dharma after ‘Student of the Year 2.’ The star is facing a challenging phase in his career, and this film, along with the upcoming ‘Baaghi 4,’ could potentially transform his fortunes. As for Janhvi, this will be her sixth outing with the banner, following ‘Dhadak,’ ‘Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl,’ ‘Mr & Mrs Mahi,’ the upcoming ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari,’ and Neeraj Ghaywan’s ‘Homebound,’ which recently premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.

Dharma Productions has around two dozen films in various stages of production. Having recently delivered a box office success with Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Kesari Chapter 2,’ the banner has six more films scheduled for release this year, including Triptii Dimri and Siddhant Chaturvedi’s ‘Dhadak 2’ (August 1), Varun and Janhvi’s ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’ (September 12), Kajol, Ibrahim Ali Khan, and Prithviraj Sukumaran starrer ‘Sarzameen,’ Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan’s untitled spy comedy, Lakshya and Ananya Panday's ‘Chand Mera Dil,’ and Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa, and Janhvi’s friendship drama, ‘Homebound.’ The lineup also includes two Kartik Aaryan films: ‘Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri’ and ‘Naagzilla.’
