Debina Bonnerjee has been an active person on social media. Be it sharing her personal space with fans on Instagram to being vocal about several issues on various mediums, she has been doing it flawlessly. During her pregnancy and delivery, the actress documented the entire journey for her fans and shared it on her YouTube page. Talking about the idea behind doing so and receiving hate comments for the same, Debina told PeepingMoon in the 2nd episode of our Women's Day special series ExtraordiNari Season 2 that when she managed to survive trolls for marrying Gurmeet Choudhary, she now fears none.
"Even if you sit at home like a statue, people are going to troll you. Ever since Ramayan ended and we started coming out in the public eye, there was a section that would just troll. That too without any reason. I would get comments like you don't suit the role of Sita. When Pati Patni Aur Woh (2008) came out, people said you're the bad one and Gurmeet is the good one. During Geet-Hui Sabse Parayi, there were a few who said 'you don't look good with Gurmeet', 'why are you marrying him?', 'you should die', 'tumne jaadu-tona kiya hai' etc. Back then, social media wasn't a thing so they would reach out to us personally and make it believe that I'm the worst person on earth."
She further shared that she has the freedom to express herself and share her life with people who love and respect her the most through her YouTube vlogs.
