PeepingMoon Exclusive: It's inherently different, it should be seen like that- Ankur Rathee on comparison between Kartik Aaryan-Kriti Sanon's Shehzada & Allu Arjun's Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo

Allu Arjun's blockbuster film Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo is getting its Hindi remake next year. Rohit Dhawan is directing the film titled Shehzada starring Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala, Kartik Aaryan, Kriti Sanon and Ankur Rathee. In an exclusive interview with PeepingMoon.com, Ankur spoke about working on the film.

Without sharing any spoiler, he said, "All I can say is working with Rohit Dhawan, Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon has been incredibly fun. There's a lot of positivity and creativity on the set. Kahi log paise ke liye kaam karte hai, fame ke liye kaam karte hai but set pe aisa lagta hai sab dil lagake passion se kaam kar rahe hai. Shehzada is different from what I have done in the past. It is a cinematic experience, a larger-than-life film."

Being a remake, comparisons between Shehzada and Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo are inevitable. Reacting to the same, Ankur told, "I don’t fear or anticipate a comparison and it is not useful. What we are making is inherently different. Take any love story, for example, a boy meets a girl and her family doesn’t accept him and they run away. You’ve seen this being done a hundred times and it doesn’t get boring. The plot doesn’t make a film different. It is the director’s vision, actors and their ideas and the way scenes are written. All of those things are different in Shehzada. The director is different, the actors are different, some of the plot points are the same and some have been changed. While of course there will be similarities, Shehzada in itself is different and should be seen like that. I don’t have any fear that people are going to compare."

Shehzada is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Allu Arvind, S Radha Krishna and Aman Gill. It will release on February 10, 2023.
