Janhvi Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao and Varun Sharma's Roohi has released in theatres today. The horror-comedy directed by Hardik Mehta is Bollywood's first big-budget film to release in theatres after the COVID-19 lockdown. Roohi is the second part of producer Dinesh’s horror-comedy franchise which started with Shraddha Kapoor- Rajkummar's Stree in 2018. The franchise will be taken forward with Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon's Bhediya.
In an exclusive interview with PeepingMoon, Janhvi, Rajkummar and Varun spoke about 'Roohi' uniting with 'Bhediya' in Dinesh's horror-comedy universe. Confirming the same, Janhvi, who plays the role of Roohi and 'chudail' Afza, said, "Yes, that's the plan." Rajkummar added, "Most probably yes."
Bhediya went on floors recently and the team is shooting in Arunachal Pradesh. The film will release in theatres on April 14, 2022. It is directed by Amar Kaushik who also helmed Stree.
