Exclusive: Salman Khan's Bharat last schedule to begin on January 4

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif's period drama Bharat is gearing towards the completion. The Ali Abbas Zafar directorial which has majorly been shot at places like Abu Dhabi, Malta, Delhi and Punjab so far will have its last schedule at Mumbai's Film City starting from January 4. Salman, Katrina and Sunil Grover will be part of this 26-days long schedule.
"Some remaining major sequences and a song will be filmed during this final schedule. Once the shooting wraps by the end of January, Ali Abbas Zafar and the team will move to its post-production and VFX work. Since the story spans over a period of 70 years and has many historical references, the film requires a lot of VFX which will ultimately take a long time. Also, a crucial part of the film showcases Salman in his late 20s and for that, the makers are using age-reduction technique. This itself is a hard process and requires enough time," a source informed us.

One of the most anticipated films of 2019, this Atul Agnihotri and Bhushan Kumar production, we heard, is going to be the best film of Ali Abbas Zafar's career. A source from the sets said, "Bharat is a well-researched and exceptionally well-written film. Ali Abbas Zafar is leaving no stone unturned to make it the biggest cinematic offering. Original stem engines, costumes and arts have been used for the shoot to make sure the film gives the feel of that era."

Bharat, an official adaptation of the 2014 Korean film Ode To My Father, is said to be a mature, subtle love story. It chronicles the story of a man who lives through several significant moments from India's past to present, starting in 1947 and ending in 2010. The film sees Salman ageing from 25-65 years and Katrina ageing from 28-60 years and witnessing one of the most dramatic chapters of Indian history, the Partition.

Also starring Tabu, Disha Patani, Jackie Shroff, Sonali Kulkarni, Nora Fatehi and Aashif Sheikh, Bharat is scheduled to release on Eid 2019!
