PeepingMoon Exclusive: Police won’t let family take Irrfan’s body home

Poor Irrfan, there’s no peace for him in death as yet.

The actor, who passed away at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital this morning, is to be laid to rest at an Kabaristan in Oshiwara. His grieving family, naturally, would like Irrfan’s mortal remains to be taken home first and prepared for the burial rituals. But this is Covid-19 time, and the city is under a lockdown. Moreover, Irrfan passed away in hospital. The police are not allowing the family to take his body home. They want the body to go directly to the burial ground. The only consolation for the actor must be that he passed away during the Holy Month of Ramazan. And within days of his mother. He must be waiting to join her. Hope the burial is sorted out speedily.
