The folklore, mystical, and spiritual grandeur of one of the most anticipated spectacles, The Vvaan, is set to unleash itself in its full glory on the big screens on September 25. Ahead of its theatrical storm, ace filmmaker Ektaa R Kapoor paid a humble visit to Vaishno Devi temple to offer prayers and seek blessings, a spiritual move rooted in faith and devotion to the goddess. Kapoor’s visit to Vaishno Devi temple only brings more relevance to the deep-rooted spirituality and devotion towards Van Devi, the heart of the entire cinematic spectacle.
India is widely renowned as the land of deities and goddesses and numerous sacred sites are revered across the length and breadth of the country. The pure and mighty essence of Vaishno Devi and the rooted belief and sanctity around Van Devi truly has created a mystical aura around Ektaa’s visit to the respected and loved shrine. The Vvaan has sparked significant buzz among the audience, especially amid the release of its second song, Chhathi Maiya, that brings to life the emotional depth of Chhath Puja, one of the core elements of the film. The song has added a new layer of spirituality to the film, and Ektaa Kapoor’s visit to Vaishno Devi temple has only strengthened the film’s connection with Van Devi manifold.
Backed by some of the country's most distinctive storytellers, The Vvaan brings together TVF’s Arunabh Kumar, director Deepak Mishra and Ektaa Kapoor for a commercial film that takes Indian folklore into a new cinematic space. While its world is rooted in folklore and fantasy, the film brings together adventure, mystery and humour to shape itself as a complete family entertainer. The ambition extends beyond the film, with The Legend of Vvaan comic book already introducing audiences to the larger folklore surrounding its universe.
Presented by Balaji Motion Pictures, a division of Balaji Telefilms Ltd, in association with TVF and 11.11 Production, The Vvaan stars Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah. Written by Arunabh Kumar and directed by Deepak Mishra, with Manu Anand as DOP and Visual Director, the film is produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, Arunabh Kumar and Niraj Kothari.
The Vvaan arrives in cinemas on September 25, 2026, promising a big-screen fantasy folklore experience where visuals, music, mystery, romance and scale come together to create a world audiences will want to step into.
