Preity Zinta is all set to make her comeback on the big screen with Batwara 1947. Ever since the beginning of her career, the actress has taken up several roles that required her to portray different shades of motherhood. However, she says that the meaning and emotions attached to motherhood have completely changed for her after becoming a mother in real life.

In an exclusive interview with PeepingMoon, Preity opened up about playing a mother in Batwara 1947 and revealed how her personal journey has helped her understand the emotion more deeply. “I have played a mother since the start of my career, but at that time I didn’t know what motherhood was,” Preity said.

The actress shared that becoming a mother herself has been one of the most special experiences of her life. “Now, when I am really a mother, I am embracing the most beautiful chapter of my life, which is raising my kids. I feel they are my most beautiful asset, and I am having the best time with them,” she added.

Talking about portraying a mother on screen after experiencing motherhood personally, Preity said that the approach is now completely different. Earlier, she understood the emotion as an actor, but today she connects with it through her own experiences. “Playing a mother on screen without having an experience was completely different. But now I understand the emotions of a mother, and I get it even more beautifully,” she shared.

Preity will be seen portraying a mother opposite Sunny Deol in Batwara 1947, bringing back their much-loved pairing on screen. Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and produced under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions, the film is set to release on August 14.
