Proving that ambition knows no boundaries, 23-year-old Harshita Sahu, a Data Analyst at International Bank, has been crowned Miss Universe Madhya Pradesh 2026, securing a direct place among the national finalists for Miss Universe India 2026.
Hailing from Ruthiyai, a small town in Madhya Pradesh's Guna district, Harshita's victory reflects the growing presence of accomplished young professionals in India's evolving pageant landscape. With a background in Computer Science and a successful corporate career, she represents a new generation of women balancing professional excellence with purpose-driven aspirations.
Born into a family rooted in community values, Harshita is the daughter of Pramod Sahu, a contractor, and Sapna Sahu, an NGO worker. Inspired by her mother's dedication to social causes, Harshita actively supports various non-profit initiatives, believing that meaningful social impact should accompany personal success.
Her journey into pageantry began with the official Miss Universe India Madhya Pradesh State Auditions held in Delhi, where she emerged as the winner among contestants from across the state. The selection was made by an eminent jury comprising Nikhil Anand, Owner of Miss Universe India, Amjad Khan, Director of Miss Universe India, and Manika Vishwakarma, Miss Universe India 2025 and a leading national model.
Ahead of the national competition, Harshita has undergone professional pageant training and personality development under celebrated pageant mentor Ritika Ramtri at The Tiara Pageant Training Studio, focusing on runway presentation, communication skills, confidence building, and overall personality enhancement.
Speaking about her journey, Harshita said: "Coming from a small town has never limited my dreams. I believe education, determination, and consistent effort can open doors for anyone. I hope my journey inspires young women from every corner of India to believe in themselves and pursue their aspirations without hesitation."
Her story highlights a broader shift in Indian beauty pageants, where contestants are increasingly recognised not only for their stage presence but also for their professional achievements, educational backgrounds, and commitment to social causes.
As Harshita prepares to represent Madhya Pradesh at the Miss Universe India 2026 national finale, she joins a diverse group of state winners from across the country competing for the coveted national crown and the opportunity to represent India on the global Miss Universe stage.
With her blend of academic excellence, corporate experience, and strong social commitment, Harshita Sahu's journey is emerging as an inspiring example of how talent from India's smaller towns is making its mark on national platforms.
