Known for his nuanced performances and engaging hosting style, Rajeev steps into a space that blends celebration and fun, making this project particularly meaningful.
1. What made you decide to return to television as the host of Tum Ho Naa, and how does this show feel different from the projects you’ve done before?
I wouldn't call it my comeback, you know. I've been part of every medium for almost so many years that each time I do any medium, it just feels like I'm going back to it. That's the beauty of being part of many mediums. You stay away from it, and then each time you pick up a project in that medium, people say that you're coming back, and I really enjoy that. So, for me, Tum Ho Naa, I think that it's one of the projects that aligns with my thinking, and I have to give it back to all those people who have been so consistent in giving me their love over these years
2. In your view, how has the role of individuals within households evolved over the years, and how does Tum Ho Naa reflect that shift?
So, for me, to be very honest, it's actually my tribute to all the women who have made me feel special for so many years and who have been very giving when it comes to me. So, I wanted to do a show that is dedicated to them, which celebrates them as well. I wouldn't say that women need any more equality, or that women need any more support or push from men, because I think they are doing very, very well for themselves, and they have kind of proven that they are at par with anybody else, if not better.
3. What can audiences expect from Tum Ho Naa that sets it apart from other reality formats on television today?
Tum Ho Naa is a show that invites women, and I express my love, my gratitude to all the women who have been multitasking all their lives, who have been managing homes, who have been working, and who have been handling so many relations. This show actually celebrates an Indian woman and also brings forth, visually and verbally, the fact that their contribution is unparalleled.
We come together, have fun, share conversations, and play some really, I would not call them difficult games; they are the easiest games to play, but they are the most fun games, also I would say, not the regular games that you play. We keep innovating our games, also, and in the end, we honour one woman with a cash prize. So, overall, it's a great experience to be on the show; I really enjoy interacting with them. The beauty is that the show is not about celebrities; it's about the real celebrities who live within us, but they never get an opportunity to be spoken about. And this platform allows all those women who have been contributing for years now, and this is the platform from where they can stand up and take all the applause.
Tune in to ‘Tum Ho Naa - Ghar Ki Superstar,’ starting 28th April, every Monday to Friday, at 9:00 PM only on Sony Entertainment Television and Sony LIV.
