Fans of Salman Khan who were surprised by the new title ‘Maatrubhumi’ given to his upcoming war drama based on the violent June 2020 battle of Galwan fought between Indian and Chinese troops, will be further amazed to learn that the actor and director Apoorva Lakhia want peace, harmony and the futility of war to be the message of the film.

To that end, and since India-China relations are experiencing a “tactical thaw” following the October 2024 border patrolling agreement between the two nations, ‘Maatrubhumi’ is looking at a reshoot of 40 days that will reportedly include a Chinese song by Himesh Reshammiya that should work both sides of the border. Will it be Hindi-Chini bhai-bhai again?
