Actress Riddhi Kumar is currently enjoying a wave of positive feedback for her performance in The Raja Saab, where she stars opposite Prabhas. As audiences praise her screen presence and chemistry with the superstar, Riddhi has now opened up about an unexpected and almost unbelievable moment from the early days of the film, when she initially thought a casting call for the project was a scam.
Recalling the incident, Riddhi shared that the call came directly from SKN, one of the producers of The Raja Saab. “I received a call from SKN sir, who is one of the producers of The Raja Saab. He told me they were casting for the film and explained the kind of project they were making,” she said. What followed left her completely stunned.
Riddhi revealed that when she was told she was being considered as the heroine opposite Prabhas, she didn’t react the way one might expect. “He then said they wanted to cast me as the heroine opposite Prabhas. I casually replied, ‘Sure,’ without taking it seriously,” she said, admitting that she did not believe it at first.
The producer, however, was serious and even checked if she truly understood the magnitude of the offer. “He clarified that he genuinely meant it and asked if I realised who Prabhas was. I told him, ‘Of course I know—who doesn’t?’” Riddhi said. Her calm reaction surprised him, but in her mind, alarm bells were ringing. “I honestly thought it might be a scam. Things like this do happen, so I was being cautious,” she added.
It was only after the producer shared official links and details that the reality began to sink in. Riddhi then spoke to her manager and explained the situation. “He immediately said, ‘No, Riddhi, you need to call him back,’” she recalled.
Looking back, the actress finds the moment amusing. What once felt unreal has now turned into a career-defining project, with The Raja Saab marking a major milestone in Riddhi Kumar’s journey.
