I don’t think it’s a big deal anymore, says Abhishek Bachchan who turns 50 on February 5, in Peeping Moon’s viral podcast

His parents, Jaya and Amitabh Bachchan, celebrated the golden jubilee year of their 1975 Bollywood blockbuster ‘Sholay’ in August last, while Abhishek Bachchan has his own 50th milestone to look forward to on February 5, next month. The actor turns 50, he was born in 1976, even while ‘Sholay’ was breaking and setting records. And Abhishek completed 25 years in Hindi cinema last year as well. “But I am not going through a midlife crisis,” he politely told Mark Manuel on PeepingMoon.com’s podcast ‘BenchMARK Conversations’.

Talking about birthdays on the viral podcast powered by Reliance Digital, the actor said, “Is 50 a milestone anymore? I don’t know! I remember my father turning 50 (on October 11, 1992) was a big deal. Shweta and I organised a party at the Taj. I think it’s all moved – 60 is the new 50 now. Generations are becoming younger in thought (the 1965-born Bollywood Khans, Salman, Shah Rukh and Aamir who turned 60 last year are a case in point) and I believe age is just a number. It’s how you feel. There’s no looking back. There’s so much more to do up ahead.”
