Goa is a favourite destination for tourists as well as filmmakers. Scenes from many popular Hindi films like Bobby, Dil Chahta Hai and Josh have been shot here. However, till now, to shoot here, the producers had to go through several levels of permissions, which made the process long and complicated.
Now the Goa government has taken a step towards simplifying the permission for film shooting. The state has started a single window permission system, under which all types of approvals can be obtained from a single online portal. This facility has been implemented through the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG).
Delilah Lobo, vice-president of the organization, said that the film facility portal has been started. On this online platform, anyone can apply for all the permissions required for shooting. According to him, this system will be transparent and it will be made completely online from September 1. Those who want to know more about it can get information on the website [www.esg.co.in].
Filmmaker Borkar, whose team has worked on films like Dil Chahta Hai, Honeymoon Travels and Finding Fanny, believes that single window clearance will attract more film projects to Goa. The move will not only facilitate the film industry but is also expected to boost local tourism and economy.
