Ek Chatur Naar Trailer: Divya Khossla’s film talks mind games, serves stale cliches

Abhishek Sharma’s upcoming film Ek Chatur Naar has finally dropped its trailer, but unfortunately, it feels more outdated than thrilling. Despite the promise of mind games and suspense, the preview serves up nothing more than recycled cliches dressed in dull packaging.

Divya Khossla plays a poor girl struggling in the slums, juggling odd jobs to make ends meet. While the setup could have been compelling, her performance lacks depth and fails to convince. The character feels more like a caricature than a real person. Opposite her, Neil Nitin Mukesh delivers yet another flat performance as a wealthy man whose mobile phone falls into Divya’s hands, sparking the so-called “twist” of the story. Sadly, this gimmick feels far too thin to hold an entire thriller together.

The trailer leans heavily on loud, mismatched background music that irritates rather than excites. The visuals and overall execution feel stuck in the early 2000s, far behind today’s cinematic standards. Even with a big supporting cast that includes Jacqueline Fernandez, Siddharth Nigam, Sumedh Mudgalkar, and others, nothing in the trailer stands out as fresh or engaging.

The film claims to blend comedy with suspense, but the humor seems forced and the thrills non-existent. What could have been a sharp battle of wits ends up looking like a predictable cat-and-mouse drama with no real bite. In the end, Ek Chatur Naar promises cleverness but delivers clichés. Unless the full film has surprises hidden away, the trailer gives little reason to be excited for its September 12 release.
