Kriti Sanon demands equal pay in bollywood, Calls out industry bias

Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon has always played female-dominated characters strongly. She puts forward her views clearly not only on screen but also in real life. Kriti believes that income inequality still exists in the film industry and this thing bothers her a lot.

In a program of CNN News 18, Kriti said, “I do not understand why there is no equality in salary (income)? When the importance of work and role is the same, then why the difference? In my opinion, the fees of hero and heroine should be equal. This topic has been discussed for a long time, but the truth is that this inequality hurts us the most.”

Kriti further said that the budget is always kept low for women-dominated films. Producers fear that such films will not earn as much as hero-led films. She said, “It is a cycle in which female-led films earn less, and that is why people assume that the hero's fees should be higher and the heroine's less.”

On the career front, Kriti Sanon will be seen in Anand L Rai's upcoming film Tere Ishq Mein, in which she is playing the lead role opposite South superstar Dhanush. Apart from this, she has also been a part of Cocktail 2.
