Actress Shruti Haasan recently spoke openly about her film journey and experiences in an interview. During a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, she said that the stars of the South industry are more humble and God-fearing than Bollywood actors.
According to Shruti, the level of spirituality and awareness is much deeper in the South. The actors there believe that the blessings of Maa Saraswati should always remain, so they are very conscious in their behavior and work. She also told that during the shooting of South films, small traditional rituals are performed - like offering coconut in the morning or keeping pictures of gods and goddesses on the set. Along with this, the actors and crew members follow the rules on the set and have a respectful attitude towards each other.
Shruti further said that people of South like simplicity. Many big stars there also like to wear simple clothes and use old cars, even if they have immense wealth. She said, “We are just a medium of art. A good film, story or song is the real identity. Our job is to take that art to the audience.” The actress believes that learning music for a long time and working with various artists taught her that the greatest virtue is to remain humble and work with full dedication.
Shruti Haasan has acted in films like LK, Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji and D-Day in Bollywood. Recently she appeared in superstar Rajinikanth's film Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film released on 14 August 2025.
