Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha's recently released film Nikita Roy did not do well at the box office. However, the director of this film and Sonakshi's brother Kush Sinha believes that his sister has immense talent, but her true potential is often not highlighted properly in the industry.
Kush Sinha said in a conversation with Free Press Journal that he has always seen Sonakshi from a different perspective. As a brother as well as a viewer, he feels that Sonakshi did not get the opportunities that could have revealed her full acting potential. Referring to films like Lootera and Akira, he said that with these films Sonakshi proved that she is not just a heroine of commercial films, but also a serious and mature artist. Kush believes that filmmakers sometimes hesitate to push stars beyond their limits. This harms the actors because their real talent is not fully revealed on screen. However, he also added that the actors' own choices also play an important role in this. Sometimes a character looks great on paper, but does not work as effectively during shooting.
He said that to survive in the film industry, one has to choose films very thoughtfully. Sometimes the chosen project does not live up to expectations, while sometimes the results prove to be even better than expected. This is the uncertainty of this industry.
Regarding his film Nikita Roy, Kush revealed that Sonakshi's character in it was very complex. She was playing the role of a woman who is broken from within, stubborn and somewhere entangled in her own thoughts. Kush says that Sonakshi captured the nuances of this character very well and brought it alive on screen.
