Sunil Shetty has been engaged in social service for a long time. He is associated as an advisor with Vipla Foundation, which is a non-governmental organization and works for education, skill development and social upliftment. This organization works to empower the middle and deprived communities. In the year 2008, Sunil Shetty played an important role in saving 128 Nepali women who became victims of sex trafficking in Mumbai and arranged to send them safely to Nepal, for which he gave credit to Mumbai Police.
