Fugitive punjabi singer Baaz Saran arrested by NCB in 36 Kg opium smuggling case, Was living as social media star

Punjabi singer Jagseer Singh alias Kala alias Baaz Saran has been arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in an old case of smuggling 36.150 kg opium. Baaz Saran was absconding for a long time and was declared a fugitive in 2016.

It is being said that he kept changing his identity and hideouts to avoid arrest. During this time, he introduced himself as an emerging Punjabi singer on social media and gained a good fan following on platforms like YouTube and Instagram. He has more than 32 thousand followers on Instagram. NCB took a big step in this matter in May 2025. His picture and information were published in the leading newspapers of the country and a reward of 50,000 was also announced for helping in his arrest. Due to this campaign, his arrest was finally possible.

According to sources, for the last one decade, Baaz Saran was hiding in different parts of the country. During this time, he changed his identity, name and even appearance so that he could dodge the police and investigating agencies. This entire operation was carried out by the Chandigarh Zonal Unit of NCB in Sirsa, Haryana. After the arrest, Baaz Saran was produced in the court, from where he was sent to judicial custody. Surprisingly, while running away from the law, he also kept gaining fame through songs and videos on social media.
