‘High time that we have bankable fresh faces in the industry!’ : top film trade analyst of India, Taran Adarsh, is rooting for Saiyaara that’s hitting at the right notes to pull people to theatres

Saiyaara brings together Yash Raj Films and Mohit Suri, both known for creating timeless love stories, for the first time, ‘is hitting all the right notes’ to pull people to the theatres, according to the country’s top film trade analyst, Taran Adarsh.

Saiyaara has so far garnered unanimous praise for delivering an intense love story with debutants who share infectious chemistry and brilliant acting skills. The film launches Ahaan Panday as a YRF hero. The studio has handpicked Aneet Padda (who stole hearts with her brilliant performance in the much-acclaimed series Big Girls Don’t Cry) as the next YRF heroine. Saiyaara is buzzing these days as the most anticipated young romantic film of our times. It has delivered the best album of the year with all four songs from the album, Saiyaara, Jubin Nautiyal’s Barbaad, Vishal Mishra’s Tum Ho Toh & Sachet-Parampara’s Humsafar making waves on the musical charts of India!

Top film trade analyst of India, Taran Adarsh, is rooting Saiyaara becomes that rare debutant film that works at the box office and gives the Hindi film industry two new faces to punt on. Taran says, “Saiyaara is hitting all the right notes as of now and it is a newcomer film that everyone is hoping works because it is high time that we have bankable fresh faces in the industry who producers can mount their youthful films on. There has been a serious dearth of this and we hope Saiyaara fixes that problem for the industry.”

He adds, “What is working for Saiyaara is the teaser and the songs. It is vintage Mohit Suri who has an incredible ear for music and the songs are tracking very well currently. The lead pair of Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda have the freshest screen presence and chemistry that is needed for a young love story to work. If you go down the history of debutant films, you will see that such pairs work big time if the music elevates their pairing and Saiyaara and its lead pair have got that going for them.” Taran is anticipating the romance genre to fire at the box office with Saiyaara, which should appeal to the youth of the country.

He explains, “Romance as a genre is waiting to deliver and it’s been a while since a good romantic film has come our way. So, if Saiyaara delivers on this front, we will surely have a winner at hand. But after a while, there is very palpable buzz around a romantic film and that too a debutant romantic film which is theatrical and it is very encouraging indeed.” Besides the songs, the film's title, Saiyaara, has also piqued the interest of the audience. It means a wandering celestial body, but in poetry it's often used to describe something (or someone) dazzling, ethereal, or otherworldly — a wandering star - always shining, always guiding, but always out of reach.

YRF, in its 50 year history, is known for giving India some of the cult romantic films of all time primarily directed by Yash Chopra and Aditya Chopra. Mohit Suri, who is currently in his 20th year in cinema, has also directed some of the most favourite romantic films like Aashiqui 2, Malang, Ek Villain, etc. Saiyaara is produced by the company’s CEO Akshaye Widhani and it is set to release on July 18, 2025 in theatres worldwide.
