Kajol, who is reported to have turned in a brilliantly scary performance in Vishal Furia’s ‘Maa’ that releases on June 27, has never seen a horror film till date. Nor has she acted in one. Not even one of these new wave horror comedies that have taken Bollywood by storm. And, according to Furia, Kajol will not even see ‘Maa’. This is some kind of a record for an actress who has been a leading lady in Bollywood for 33 years.

It's not that Kajol is weak hearted when it comes to horror films. She just does not have the stomach for this genre of cinema, she says. Amazingly, the actress admits she did not even see husband Ajay Devgn’s 2003 film ‘Bhoot’, which remains one of Bollywood’s biggest hits, and which also had Kajol’s mother Tanuja playing a role.

Further, Kajol said she hadn’t even seen 2024’s ‘Shaitan’ starring Ajay again and R. Madhavan in a devilish role. This was mythological horror which is the same genre as ‘Maa’ and was a major box office hit last year. In a lighter vein, the feisty actress says, tongue-firmly-in-cheek, “I can scare people in real life
