After Deepika Padukone's exit from Sandeep Reddy Vanga's film 'Spirit', a new debate has started in the film industry regarding working hours. It is being said that one of the major reasons for Deepika leaving the film was her demand for an 8-hour shift, which was rejected by the producers. Now many big artists of the film industry are giving their opinion on this issue.
Bigwigs like Ajay Devgan and Mani Ratnam have already given statements in support of the 8-hour shift. Now Pankaj Tripathi has also put forth his point on this issue and has talked about setting limited working hours. Talking to The Hollywood Reporter, Pankaj Tripathi said, "I used to find it very difficult to say no, but now I am learning this art."
He further said, “Every person should know his limit and when that limit is crossed, he should calmly say ‘no’. Earlier my shooting hours used to gradually increase to 16 to 18 hours. I used to joke that the actor has left, but the laborer remains. But now this will not work. Now I have decided that I will not cross my limits.” Pankaj Tripathi further said that now he openly tells the director that the work that is left will be done the next morning.
It is worth noting that Deepika Padukone had cited her conditions as the reason behind leaving ‘Spirit’. According to media reports, Deepika not only demanded an 8-hour shift, but she also demanded a huge fee, which the makers rejected. After this confrontation, Deepika left the film and now Tripti Dimri has been taken in her place.
