The Hindi film industry has suffered a major setback as popular actor Mukul Dev has died untimely. 54-year-old Mukul Dev's name has been associated with many popular films like 'Son of Sardar', 'R... Rajkumar' and 'Jai Ho'. The news of his sudden demise has given a deep shock to the film industry and his fans.

According to media reports, Mukul Dev died on Friday night. However, the cause of his death could not be ascertained. When this sad news reached his close ones on Saturday morning, many friends and well-wishers reached his house. At present, an official statement is awaited from his family or someone close. Mukul Dev's close friend and actress Deepshikha Nagpal confirmed his death by sharing an old photo on social media. She posted a throwback photo with Mukul on Instagram Story and wrote only "RIP".

Mukul Dev was born in Delhi to a Punjabi family whose roots were connected to a village near Jalandhar. His father Hari Dev was an Assistant Commissioner in Delhi Police and had a deep love for Afghani culture. He was also fluent in Pashto and Persian languages, which influenced Mukul as well. Mukul Dev's acting journey started during his school days. In the eighth grade, he imitated Michael Jackson and performed in a Doordarshan dance show, and this is where he got his first remuneration. After this, he also took training in flying aircraft from Indira Gandhi National Flight Academy.

Mukul made his debut in the TV world with the 1996 serial 'Mumkin'. He was also the host of the first season of 'Fear Factor India'.
