Randeep Hooda to portray army hero in real-life war drama ‘Operation Khukri’

Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda is once again going to be seen in a tremendous character on the big screen. After the success of the film 'Jaat', Randeep is now bringing the story of a mission, which is considered a symbol of courage and strategy in the history of the Indian Army. The name of his next film is 'Operation Khukri', which is a war drama film based on a true incident.

This film is based on a real military operation that took place in the West African country Sierra Leone in the year 2000. At that time, rebel groups there had taken 233 soldiers of the Indian Army hostage. The courageous operation carried out by the Indian Army in this dangerous situation is still considered a golden chapter in military history. In the film, Randeep Hooda is playing the role of Major General Raj Pal Punia, who was the company commander of the 14th Mechanized Infantry at that time and he led this operation.

Randeep Hooda said about this project, "This film is not only about weapons and war, but it shows the spirit of bravery, sacrifice and brotherhood. It is a matter of pride for me to play the character of such a brave warrior, who not only rescued 233 soldiers trapped among the enemy within 75 days, but also added a new chapter of bravery in the history of the Indian Army."

The story of 'Operation Khukri' is based on a bestseller book, published by Penguin Random House India. The film rights of this book have now been officially acquired by Rahul Mitra Films and Randeep Hooda Films. Work on the script of the film is going on at a fast pace and it will be shot on a large scale.
