Bollywood's Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan is once again in the headlines for his upcoming film 'Sitare Zameen Par', which is going to be released in theaters on June 20. Recently the first poster of the film came out, seeing which the curiosity of the audience has increased even more. Now new and interesting information is coming out about the film.
While nowadays almost every big film becomes available on some OTT platform a few weeks or months after its theatrical release, Aamir Khan is going to do something new by breaking away from this trend. If media reports are to be believed, 'Sitare Zameen Par' will not be released on OTT, but directly on YouTube under the pay-per-view model.
Under this model, the audience will have to pay a fixed fee to watch the film, just like they watch the film by buying tickets in the cinema hall. Aamir Khan believes that releasing the film on OTT reduces the interest of the audience in theaters. They want the film to be watched in theatres first and later if a viewer wants to watch it at home, he can watch it by paying through YouTube. This is the reason why the logo of any streaming platform is not given on the poster of the film.
In the pay-per-view model, the producer benefits directly because the audience pays every time they watch the film, not under a one-time subscription. Aamir is looking at this model as an experiment and according to reports, more information about this plan may come out in the coming weeks. 'Sitare Zameen Par' is directed by R. S. Prasanna. This film is considered to be the sequel of Aamir Khan's 2007 superhit film 'Taare Zameen Par'. Genelia D'Souza is in the lead role with Aamir Khan in this film. However, Genelia was not seen in the first poster of the film, due to which the audience is curious about her role.
