The case of the suspicious death of junior artist M.F. Kapil during the shooting of 'Kantara 2' has created a stir in the film industry. Now the All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has reacted strongly in this matter and has demanded a fair investigation and appealed to register an FIR against producer Rishab Shetty and the production house.
According to the information, the shooting of the film was going on in the Kollur area of Karnataka. Meanwhile, on May 6, junior artist M.F. Kapil died due to drowning in the river. The police have registered a case regarding this incident in Kollur police station, but AICWA is raising serious questions about this death.
AICWA says that accidents happening on film sets have become a matter of concern. The organization said in a statement, "The deaths of technicians during the shooting of Tamil films 'Indian 2' and 'Sardar 2' have already been a cause of concern for us. In November last year, 20 junior artists were victims of a bus accident, but the truth of that incident has also been presented in a distorted manner till date." AICWA further said, "Producers and production houses associated with film production often underestimate the seriousness of these incidents and try to hide the truth by giving wrong information. The claim of 'drowning' behind the death of M.F. Kapil should also be thoroughly investigated whether it was really an accident or is there some other reason behind it?"
The organization also alleged that whenever a worker dies on a film set, its real reason is suppressed and anyone who tries to reveal the truth is intimidated. AICWA has appealed to Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah to conduct a high-level and impartial investigation into the matter, demanding an end to this practice. The organisation has also demanded an FIR against producer Rishab Shetty and the production house and has recommended a compensation of Rs 1 crore to M.F. Kapil's family.
