The Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi starrer ‘Bhool Chuk Maaf' will now be released directly on the OTT platform.The makers have taken this decision giving priority to the safety and peace of the country. The cancellation of Bhool Chuk Maaf's theatrical release a day before is a rare occurrence in Hindi cinema.

Originally scheduled to release in cinemas on May 9, 2025, the film's producers Maddock Films and Amazon MGM Studios said in a joint statement, "In view of recent events and increased security arrangements across the country, we decided to release 'Bhool Chuk Maaf' on Prime Video on May 16. Country comes first, Jai Hind."

The film had received a positive response from the audience at a press show held in Delhi, who were appreciating it as a family entertainer. However, due to the growing security concerns and 'Operation Sindhur', the makers took the bold step of postponing the theatrical release. This decision of the makers shows that they prioritize the safety and well-being of the country above the film industry. This also makes it clear that they want to provide the audience with an opportunity to watch the film in a safe and convenient way, rather than forcing them to watch the film in theatres.
