Accident on the sets of Rishab Shetty’s ‘Kantara 2’: Junior artist drowns during river scene shoot

The shooting of Rishab Shetty's much-awaited film 'Kantara 2' is going on in Kollur, Karnataka these days. While on one hand this film is a subject of great curiosity among the audience, on the other hand, problems are constantly coming up during its shooting. In a tragic incident on Tuesday, a junior artist associated with the film died by drowning in the river, due to which a wave of mourning has spread on the set.

According to the information received, the name of the deceased was MF Kapil. He was a resident of Kerala. Kapil was working as a junior artist in the shooting of 'Kantara 2' these days. A case has been registered in connection with the incident at Kollur Police Station and the police are investigating the matter. It was told that during the lunch break, junior artist Souparnika went to take a bath in the river, when she was swept away due to the strong current. The search was started with the help of the local people along with the relief and rescue team and after some time her body was recovered.

This is not the first time that an accident has happened during the shooting of 'Kantara 2'. Earlier, a bus full of junior artists going for shooting also overturned in Kollur, although no one was seriously injured in that incident. Due to the recent heavy rains, an expensive set of the film was also damaged, causing heavy losses to the makers.

'Kantara 2' is a film directed and starring Rishab Shetty, which will be released on a pan India level. Its first part received tremendous appreciation across the country. Now the audience has high expectations from the second part of the film as well. The makers have set the release date of the film as October 2, 2025. Currently, the shooting is halted due to the accident on the set and the team is trying to recover from this tragic incident.
