Junaid Khan begins filming for rom-com with Khushi Kapoor: Reports

Actor Junaid Khan, son of Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, is all set to make his debut with the historical drama ‘Maharaj,’ releasing on Netflix on June 14th. Hot on the heels of this news, Junaid has begun filming for his next project, an untitled romantic comedy directed by Advait Chandan, known for his work on ‘Secret Superstar’ and ‘Laal Singh Chaddha.’

The film, which pairs Junaid with Khushi Kapoor, daughter of the late actress Sridevi and producer Boney Kapoor, is reportedly a remake of the 2022 Tamil hit 'Love Today.' Production began on Monday in Mira Road, Mumbai, after Chandan rescheduled the start date to accommodate Junaid's promotional activities for ‘Maharaj.’

Produced by Shristi Behl and Phantom Films, the project marks the production banner's return after a hiatus, known for hits like ‘Queen,’ ‘Masaan,’ and ‘Udta Punjab.’ The initial shooting schedule spans three weeks in Mumbai, with the Seven Eleven Club banquet hall in Mira Road as the primary location. The team aims to wrap up outdoor filming by mid-June before the monsoon season.

Junaid's father, Aamir Khan, has been heavily involved in the film's pre-production but will head to Delhi this week to finalize shooting for his own project, ‘Sitaare Zameen Par.’
